The
Preston City Congregational Church is setting up a food pantry to
meet the needs of people in the community. Donations of non-perishable
foods can be placed in the boxes placed at the church itself, the town
hall, the library, and the transfer station. Look for the colorful
toucan, reminding people that “two cans” would be better than one. In
addition, toucan donation containers will be placed in Preston
businesses, for monetary donations. Monies will be used to fill special
needs and some fresh food items (e.g. eggs). For further information,
visit the town’s web site
www.preston-ct.org, call the church at 887-4647, or the food
pantry’s co-chairmen, Stella Dawley, 887-6452 and Harriet Rosiene,
889-0238.
